Megayacht News is the only independent, professionally written, daily-updated Web site devoted to megayachts, a.k.a. superyachts--both sailing yachts and motoryachts measuring 80 feet and larger. Launched in 2007, it has quickly become a leading source of information about new launches, design proposals, luxury yachting events, crew hiring and placement, and other important news for owners, their representatives, yacht builders, designers, and other industry members. Megayacht News was named to The Helium Report's (now Halogen Guides') best yacht blogs list, and it's been referenced by The Wall Street Journal, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and others.

The owner and editor of Megayacht News is Diane M. Byrne, who has been covering megayachts since 1993. Much of her work has appeared in Power & Motoryacht magazine, where she was a staff member for 15 years. She now writes for a variety of yachting publications, including Super Yacht World and Ocean magazine (Australia). She's also regularly quoted by media outlets worldwide, including CNBC, ABC News, Reuters, the Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Sunday Times (UK), and Forbes, for commentary about the marine industry. She is a member of the International Superyacht Society and a founding member of the United States Superyacht Association. She is additionally a member of other professional organizations such as Ladies Who Launch and the Association for Women in Communications, the latter of which presented her with a prestigious Clarion Award for Best Feature Writing.
